The short version. TermTrack reads your course outlines and builds you a plan. It's a helper, not an authority, so always check anything important against the real outline. Don't upload other people's material or try to break the service. It's free right now and provided as is.
1. What this is
TermTrack is a tool that reads course outlines you upload and produces a checklist of assessments with their dates and weights, plus an optional study schedule. It is built and operated by Adam Elkalza, an independent student developer in Ontario, Canada. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any university or educational institution.
By using TermTrack you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, don't use it.
2. Accuracy, and why you still need to check
This matters more than anything else here. TermTrack uses automated processing to read outlines. It will sometimes get things wrong: a missed assignment, a misread date, a weight attached to the wrong item. Your course outline and your instructor are the real source of truth. Always confirm your deadlines against the official outline before you rely on them.
No responsibility is accepted for missed deadlines, late penalties, lost marks, or any other academic outcome. The plan TermTrack gives you is a convenience, not a guarantee.
3. Your account
If you create an account, keep your login details to yourself and give a real email address so you can be reached about your data. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Let me know if you think someone else has access to it.
4. What you upload
You keep ownership of everything you upload. Uploading it grants only the narrow permission needed to run the service: storing your file, processing it, and showing you the result.
By uploading, you confirm that you're allowed to. Only upload material you have a right to use, which normally means outlines for courses you are enrolled in. Don't upload:
- copyrighted material you don't have permission to use, such as textbooks, published course packs, or exam banks
- anyone else's personal information
- content that is illegal, or that you're contractually barred from sharing
5. Fair use of the service
Don't do these things:
- automate or script uploads, or otherwise hammer the service with volume
- attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- probe, scan, or try to break the service or its infrastructure
- resell access or pass off the output as your own product
- use it for anything unlawful
There are limits on upload volume and file size. Accounts that abuse the service may be limited or closed without notice. Since processing each upload costs real money, this is enforced.
6. Academic integrity
TermTrack organizes your deadlines. It does not do your coursework. You are responsible for following your institution's academic integrity rules, and using a planning tool doesn't change what your school expects of you.
7. Cost and changes to pricing
TermTrack is currently free. If paid features are introduced later, you'll be told in advance, and no charge will ever be applied without you explicitly agreeing to it first. Nothing you do today creates a payment obligation.
8. Availability
This is a small project run by one person. There's no uptime guarantee. It may be slow, go down, break, change substantially, or be discontinued. If it's ever shut down for good, account holders will get notice by email and a window to export their data.
9. Provided as is
TermTrack is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. There is no promise that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of TermTrack is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost marks, missed deadlines, lost data, or academic consequences, arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid for the service, which is currently nothing.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Ending it
You can stop using TermTrack and delete your account at any time by emailing adamelkalza@gmail.com. Your account may be suspended or closed if you break these terms.
12. Privacy
How your information is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The date at the top will change, and significant changes will be emailed to account holders. Continuing to use TermTrack after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute goes before the courts of Ontario.
